About the Cry
Have you heard the cry? 2008 has already become a year many Kenyans would like to soon forget. Results from the 2007 election sent the country into complete chaos and terror. Death and destruction reigned for several weeks. Families torn apart, properties destroyed, and communities left in shambles. Do you hear the cry?
My name is James Kinyanjui. I was born and raised in Kenya, though currently my family resides in North Carolina. I heard the cry many years ago to help aid in the hardships of my fellow Kenyan people. My heart is passionate for the less fortunate and oppressed. Over the years, I have been blessed with many opportunities to pour into my Kenyan community including a feeding program for kids, designing an orphanage, drilling clean water for the orphanage, and speaking at local schools.
As the disturbing reports from my homeland recently flooded the world news, I heard the cry stirring once again inside of me. Was I alone? Had anyone else heard the cry? Fortunately, my friend Sheg, who recently appeared on Oprah’s Big Give and Jason, a great friend from Chicago, had heard the cry as well. What if we could create a website to raise funds and awareness for the great humanitarian needs going on as you read this? What if the cry of the Kenyan children was heard around the world? Do you hear the cry?
www.iheardthecry.com was created for those individuals around the world that have heard the cry and want to help. Our hope is that at least 1 million people would give at least $1.00 toward the cause. That’s a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s! Yet, your simple dollar would go a long way in rescuing and restoring these poor individuals that have lost so much. We will use the funds to aid those still in refugee camps with the basic items for life. Please, join forces with us. Together, we can change lives forever and bring hope to the hopeless! Do you hear the cry? If so, please respond!
